College Park Speed and the Place I Never Want to Visit

I always loved this photo.
And apparently, so did other people ^_^
It captures a regular day at a place that has become so regular for Baltimore.
That place, mind you, is not the jail itself. It is more the mentality that Baltimore is nothing but a crime-ridden hellhole with every cop and politician corrupt, the newspapers are in bed with these politicians and the drug dealers run amok.
David Simon wasn’t lying when he created The Wire. That type of thing does happen. The Shelia Dixon trial is a prime example of two of the three things I mentioned. However, we, as people–my fellow Baltimoreans–need not fall into the trap of believing that since we are from the Home of the Wire that we need to “go harder than Baltimore,” as Jay-Z and Mullyman iterated.
Baltimore has gotten a bad rap for being a “hellhole,” with a baseball team that just makes matters worse. But, once you get past the facade of what you THINK Baltimore is, you’re bound to find a slew of different opinions and ideas of what it TRULY means to be part of the Baltimore experience.
And, not all artists/producers from Baltimore make Club Music.
